The Computer Psychiatrist
This is the Seed7 version of the famous computer program by Joseph Weizenbaum.
Intended to be a parody of a therapist, it was so convincing that some
psychiatrists believed, that an automated form of psychotherapy would be
possible. The form of a psychiatric interview was chosen to avoid a database
of real-world knowledge. The program uses a keyword search and a table of
response templates. Using the templates it rephrases many of the patient's
statements as questions and poses them to the patient. This simple mechanism
works so good that some people did not believe that they talked to a program,
even after the facts where shown to them. To exit the program just write shut.
